  • In 2023, ASWB’s Regulatory Research Committee, made up of volunteer regulators, issued a request for proposals to contribute to a growing body of research that will inform systems changes and help both the profession and the clients and client systems served. Three research teams have carried out their proposed research and have submitted their findings for publication.

The Association of Social Work Boards recently explored answers to this common question by conducting an alignment study that found significant overlap, strengthening evidence for the connections among education, licensure, and professional practice.
  • The robust workforce dataset collected through the 2024 Social Work Census is now available for use by researchers. ASWB funded and conducted the Census between March 1 and June 30, 2024, to contribute to a better understanding of the social work profession.
