ASWB has published a series of workforce study reports authored by Joy Kim, MSW, Ph.D., of the School of Social Work at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. These reports draw on a survey dataset collected by ASWB as part of the Social Work Census.

December 3, 2024ASWB donates nearly $24,000 to nonprofit organizationsThe Association of Social Work Boards today announced charitable donations totaling $23,965 to 13 nonprofit organizations in connection with the Social Work Census. As part of its efforts to encourage participation in the Social Work Census, ASWB — along with members of the Social Work Workforce Coalition — identified 13 nonprofit organizations to receive donations on behalf of individuals who completed the survey.

The most comprehensive profession-wide study to date, the Census will generate an up-to-date picture of who today’s social workers are and what they are doing in their practice. Findings will help support the development of a more inclusive and equitable social work workforce and will be used in designing future competence assessments for social work licensure.
