October 3, 2024Social Work Licensure Compact Commission meetsTwenty-two delegates convened via Zoom for the first meeting of the Social Work Licensure Compact Commission on Tuesday, September 17. The meeting focused on governance of the Commission itself, with commissioners discussing bylaws, data systems, ex officio members, and initial operating funds.

The goal of the exam report series, based on additional analyses of data on ASWB exam pass rates and those of other professions, is to inform ASWB’s and the social work profession’s approach to addressing the complex individual, institutional, and community factors influencing the testing experience and exam results.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), announced the first-ever Licensure Portability Grant Program investment in a multi-state social worker licensure compact. ASWB is one of four organizations that will receive a grant to support the compact’s effort in working with state licensing boards to increase access to care.
