ASWB relies on committed volunteers for its most crucial work. Volunteers serve on committees, in positions of elected leadership, and as subject matter experts.
Member event and information portal
ASWB is pleased to offer an online portal for our member boards, their staff, and volunteers.
Through this system, members can register for ASWB meetings and trainings, review any existing registrations, and update contact information with ASWB.
Nominate an outstanding regulator for an ASWB Award
The ASWB Board of Directors recognizes the work of social work regulators with the Sunny Andrews Award and the Glenda McDonald Board Administrator Award. The association accepts nominations for the awards each year, and the Board of Directors makes selections in the late summer. Awards are presented at the association’s Annual Meeting of the Delegate Assembly, held each fall.
Committees
The success of ASWB greatly depends on the volunteers who serve on our committees and task forces. In general, committee members are members or staff of social work regulatory boards and donate their time to ASWB in addition to their board commitments.
Elected leadership
Each year at the ASWB Annual Meeting of the delegate assembly, delegates vote for individuals to serve on ASWB’s Board of Directors and Nominating Committee.

Serving as a delegate
Delegates are individual representatives of ASWB member boards. Each ASWB member jurisdiction is encouraged to appoint one voting delegate to attend the Annual Meeting of the Delegate Assembly and an alternate delegate to serve in the delegate’s place if the delegate unexpectedly cannot vote. Multiple members from a jurisdiction may attend the annual meeting, but only one individual will be fully funded as the designated delegate.
