Please give a brief biography, including your education, licensure or certification level and employment history:

I am an experienced senior executive with over two decades of leadership in social work and program development, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer for Brunswick Senior Resources, Inc. (BSRI). In this role, I oversee the operations of six senior centers, managing a $6.5million budget and a team of over 55 professionals. My leadership has been instrumental in increasing community impact, providing services to approximately 15,000 seniors across Brunswick County North Carolina. I have successfully spearheaded initiatives that improved employee engagement, restructured programs to meet challenges, and secured recognition for multiple Senior Centers of Excellence Awards.

I developed critical case management systems and launched wellness programs that engaged over 1,000 volunteers. My experience extends into academia as an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I aligned student training with CSWE accreditation standards. I hold a Master of Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Stony Brook University. I am a Certified Master Social Worker.

Give a synopsis of your regulatory and professional experience. Please emphasize your involvement with ASWB:

Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in regulatory oversight and professional leadership within the field of social work. I served as Chairperson of the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board (NCSWCLB) from 2020–2025, working closely with board members and staff to review licensure applications, uphold ethical standards, and advance initiatives that protect the public while promoting professional integrity.

My involvement with the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) has strengthened my commitment to effective and inclusive regulation. I’ve had the privilege of serving as a delegate, education meeting panelist, and participant in Board Member Exchange (BMX) gatherings. I’m especially proud of my contributions to the development of the Social Work Licensure Compact, having served on the committee that helped draft this important legislation, which promotes multistate licensure and professional mobility. Currently, I serve on ASWB’s REAL (Regulation and Education Advancing Licensure) Committee, where we are developing the framework for the 2026 Education Conference.

The Nominating Committee plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organization by recruiting individuals who are not only qualified but also aligned with ASWB’s values of equity, accountability, and public protection. I believe we must continue building leadership pipelines that prioritize representation from historically underrepresented voices, including those from rural areas, BIPOC communities, and jurisdictions at different stages of regulatory maturity.
