2026 Elections

Delegates will elect six Board of Directors members and three Nominating Committee members in 2026.

The Nominating Committee makes every effort to slate candidates from diverse regions, with differing professional and cultural backgrounds from the recommendation forms received. The Nominating Committee’s work reflects ASWB’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    1 seat, 4-year term
  • Secretary
    1 seat, 2-year term
  • Director at Large, licensed/registered social worker
    2 seats, 2-year term
  • Director at Large, public member
    1 seat, 2 year term
  • Director at Large, administrator
    1 seat, 2-year term
  • Nominating Committee
    3 seats, 2-year term

The role of the Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is charged with soliciting recommendations from member boards to develop the slate of candidates for the ASWB Board of Directors and Nominating Committee positions. The committee’s charge is outlined in the association’s bylaws, and may be summarized as:

  1. Soliciting recommendations from member boards and/or developing slates of candidates for ASWB Board of Directors and Nominating Committee positions.
  2. Assessing qualifications, suitability, and willingness of eligible nominees and presenting a slate representing the best candidates for each vacancy.
  3. Using its best efforts to reflect diversity on both the Board of Directors and the Nominating Committee.
  4. Identifying and encouraging potential new leaders among association membership.

Deadline for recommendations

Recommendations will be accepted until midnight EDT, Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
