Term ends: 1/2027

Please give a brief biography, including your education, licensure or certification level and employment history:

I have practiced social work for 29 years in mental health and substance use disorder treatment as both a direct service practitioner and program administrator. I earned my MSW from Clark Atlanta University and an MPH from Emory University. I’ve been with the Atlanta VA for 13 years, the past 10 as Professional Practice Specialist for the Social Work Service Line, overseeing scope of practice, privileging, and internship programs.

Give a synopsis of your regulatory and professional experience. Please emphasize your involvement with ASWB:

I was first appointed to the Georgia Composite Board in 2015 and chaired it in 2019-2021. Since my first ASWB Delegate Assembly in 2016, I’ve served on the REAL Committee (later Chair), the Nominating Committee (later Chair), the DEIJ Committee, and the Practice Analysis Taskforce. I was reappointed to the Board in January 2024 and served as ASWB Board Secretary for 2 years.

Finally, make a brief statement on the major issues you see facing ASWB, and how you would address them:

ASWB faces real challenges: workforce shortages are prompting states to consider eliminating licensing exams, requiring expanded lobbying; AI will reshape regulation and ASWB’s own operations; exams are being translated into French, with Spanish under consideration. As Secretary, I will remain flexible, adaptable, and a thoughtful decision-maker as the board governs the association.
