Update on transition to PSI test centers

Social work licensing test-takers began taking their exams at PSI test centers on January 2, 2024. As anticipated, volume during the first week was higher than typical, at least in part because of the two-week period at the end of December when ASWB transitioned to its new exam administration partner.

ASWB’s exam services team and their partners at PSI were prepared for the higher volume and for a possible bump in testing incidents, as test-takers and test centers adjust to new procedures and new software. Director of Exam Administration Felicia Dennison notes that ASWB is meeting twice daily with PSI staff to address problems as soon as possible. “We are hearing from candidates quickly,” she says, “which means we can address their concerns and follow up with PSI.”

“We are always looking for a fair resolution when test-takers have an issue,” Dennison says, “and most of our customers right now are understanding.”

ASWB’s information technology department is working side by side with exam services, making sure that data moves smoothly between ASWB and PSI. The first PSI scores were reported to members through the online portal earlier this week.

If you hear from a test-taker about a problem, have them contact ASWB directly, either by email at candidateservices@aswb.org or by phone at 888.579.3926.
