Volunteer for the Practice Analysis Task Force
The Association of Social Work Boards seeks volunteers to serve on the task force and provide subject matter expertise to our practice analysis process. The task force will help develop the largest practice analysis survey of social work practitioners ever undertaken: the Social Work Census. The census is scheduled to launch Social Work Month, March 2023. The task force will use the practice analysis survey results to shape the content outlines for the social work licensing examinations that will be released in January 2025.
Key Practice Analysis Task Force responsibilities:
- Meet in metro D.C. area, September 9–10, 2022, to develop a list of social work tasks, activities, and competencies to be used in the Social Work Census
- Meet in metro D.C. area, summer 2023, to review and interpret survey results and provide recommendations for future exam content outlines
- Review documents and other materials assigned before and after each meeting
- Complete independent work in summer 2023 to help establish links between social work tasks and activities and the competencies required for each task
ASWB pays travel expenses for all task force members.
All licensed or registered social workers practicing in the United States and Canada are eligible for consideration. ASWB will select qualified applicants to build an inclusive group that reflects demographic and geographic diversity.
