Register online for New Board Member Training

The Association of Social Work Boards offers free intensive three-day training sessions for newly-appointed members of regulatory boards.

These popular sessions are held three times a year, and cover topics ranging from conflict of interest to disciplinary procedures. Trainers include veteran members of social work regulatory boards, regulatory law attorneys, and members of the ASWB staff. ASWB funds travel and lodging for a limited number of attendees per session.

Topics to be covered during the training include the role and responsibility of board members, the licensure examinations, political realities of boards, adjudication/discipline/enforcement, national trends in professional regulation and other current regulatory issues.

Space and funds are limited, so slots are distributed on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Priority will be given to new board members from jurisdictions that have not sent members to a recent training.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact at the ASWB national office at 1-800-225-6880 Ext. 3007.
