New Board Member Training

Registration is closed for 2010 New Board Member Training.

The Association of Social Work Boards offers free intensive three-day training sessions for newly-appointed members of regulatory boards.

Space and funds are limited so we must go by a “first-come-first-served” policy.  Priority will be given to new board members from jurisdictions that have not sent a member to a recent training. 
                                                                   
ASWB will pay all expenses for one board member per jurisdiction, per meeting.  If you have more than one board member you would like to send to one of the sessions, include a list of additional candidates and their preferred training date.  If there is space for additional participants, ASWB Meeting Planner Jennifer Hoffman will contact you. Funding for additional participants will be determined on a meeting-by-meeting basis.

Topics to be covered during the training include the role and responsibility of board members, the licensure examinations, political realities of boards, adjudication/discipline/enforcement, national trends in professional regulation and other current regulatory issues.
